The sudden death of Pope Francis found the whole world unprepared, not just Catholics and Christians. Incredulity then gave way to disorientation. We all felt, some more than others, lost and a little more alone, especially in this period marked by conflict, war, and injustice. Pope Francis’ presence gave us security. His clear and strong words gave voice and space to those who had none. He was a true leader who was not afraid to stand up for the weakest, using his role in favor of and in service to all humanity.
