Last year, we took the hard and medium MICHELIN Pilot Sport slicks to Imola for the Hypercars, but the temperature fell from 30°C the previous week to 18°C when we arrived. The soft and medium would have been more suited, so that's what we're proposing this time around, especially as the soft ensures a better transition with the Wet in the case of rain. Imola doesn't put much energy into tires, which isn't ideal for fast warm-up. The soft – and medium if it is hot – will therefore help our partners to make the most of our tires' potential during their out-laps. They should also enable triple stints at higher speeds, so there's a good chance we will see lap times come down. Peugeot, Porsche, Alpine and Cadillac all tested their respective prototypes at Imola at the beginning of March to prepare for the season's second race.
