“In this region of Spain, a three-month shift in the calendar creates a great number of uncertainties. Moreover, this track isn’t used very often, which raises additional questions about grip levels, especially as we don’t yet know how the new asphalt will evolve over time. Fortunately, we had a solid data base, and thanks to our engineers and forecasters, we were able to create a detailed profile of the tires that would perform best in this scenario.
“Within this context, we decided to modify the casing of the front Hard tire by giving it a bit more rigidity. For the rear, we selected a new Soft compound designed to maintain its performance over a longer duration, potentially even for the entire Grand Prix distance, should our partners choose to go that route. We also considered the circuit layout, which features long straights with high speeds and heavy loads, as well as several challenging corners that require complex thermal management and strong braking. Turn 2 will be especially
