Founded in 1875, the Catholic University of Paris (Institut Catholique de Paris - ICP) is the heir of the Medieval Liberal Arts Colleges and lies in the tradition of the Sorbonne, the oldest academic institution in France. ICP is renowned for its excellence in core academic fields of social and religious sciences. As a non-for-profit Association pursuant to French Law of 1901, recognised as Promoting the Public interest, its Research Unit “Religion, Culture and Society” is fully recognised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
