For the last twenty years, air quality in France has been continuously improving, the result of joint efforts by public authorities, economic players and citizens. Despite these advances, air pollution remains a major health issue, at the heart of national and territorial public policies. In particular, it guides action through the National Plan for the Reduction of Emissions of Air Pollutants (PREPA) and the Atmosphere Protection Plans (PPA).
