Anthony Preston, of Pembroke Road, bought an ambulance with the hope of driving it to Marseille, in France, and then donated it to the UN who would then take it to Gaza or Sierra Leone, where such vehicles are in demand. Due to his personal health he was unable to make the drive, so he took the ambulance to Liverpool and sent it in a container via Turkey for humanitarian aid. He said: “I bought...
