JANUARY 2021, ISSUE 65 FREE MAKING NO CARS THE MOS TO YOUR HO F FEET FIRST USE See pag e 16 CALLS TO PEDESTRIANISE CITY CENTRE A new petition, which proposes the permanent pedestrianisation of areas in the city centre such as George Street and Market Place, has been launched despite previous calls to reopen the areas to traffic. These areas of the city were shut off to cars to allow for social distancing during the pandemic. But residents who have noticed other benefits, such as a reduction in air pollution, are calling for a consultation to be launched to ask locals if they want the change to be made permanent.
