HAROLD THOMAS BECK 1 CHAPTER ONE It was an old fashioned family wedding. It lasted almost a week. Geoff didn’t have any family. Carol had her brothers and their families. They began arriving on Sunday and by Tuesday everyone was in town. Carol was the baby and everyday was a party followed by dinner, cocktails and laughter. Her brothers liked Geoff and he liked them as well. It was also the first time Carol had a chance to spend time with her sisters-in-law and their children. The women all fussed from Wednesday on with the wedding arrangements, cooked constantly, and visited. For the first time in many years the house had a real family in it and was finally filled with the laughter. Father Lonnergan was a frequent guest at the house all week. He was there for dinner on Wednesday. He came back for Thanksgiving on Thursday, and he was with the men for the bachelor party on Friday.
