Supporting Early Childhood Development in Liberia Overcoming the legacy of war and transforming a future generation Felicia Doe-Sumah is the assistant minister of education and a champion of early childhood development. Since 1986, she has worked in the office of the Ministry of Education in various positions; in 2013, she was appointed assistant minister for early childhood education. As a policymaker, she has worked to create and implement policies that ensure that all children have access to early childhood education and care, and that parents and communities are involved. She is currently responsible for implementing the national intersectoral policy on early childhood development and coordinating the work of other ministries. Jamesetta Diggs is a master trainer for teachers and people working with young children, the Ministry of Education, and communities.
