Acharnes is a municipality north of Athens, situated at the foot of Mount Parnitha, with a rich historical past. However, today, much of its heritage has been forgotten, overshadowed by the social challenges affecting some of its neighborhoods.
In 2007, an ancient theater dating back to the 4th century BC was discovered beneath the city but has remained unutilized. This project aims to integrate the theater into the urban fabric of Acharnes and proposes a large-scale intervention that reimagines a series of public spaces and introduces a new, intricate network of pedestrian streets.
