A truck engine works at the very limits of what metal can withstand, almost every single day: high temperatures, heavy loads, thousands of crankshaft revolutions per minute. Under these conditions, one of the most vulnerable components is the cylinder liner — a part whose condition directly determines compression, oil consumption, power output, and the engine's overall service life. One of the most insidious causes of premature liner failure is cavitation. Unlike ordinary mechanical friction, it destroys metal invisibly, from within the cooling system, and a driver often only learns about the problem once the engine has already lost compression or started "eating" coolant.
