When Should You Involve a Traffic Management Planner in Your Project? Start During the Early Planning Stage Traffic considerations should be addressed before construction activities begin, particularly when a project involves public roads, footpaths, busy access points or frequent movement of heavy vehicles. Leaving traffic arrangements until work is about to start can create avoidable delays and safety concerns. A traffic management planner should ideally be involved during the early planning stage so potential traffic risks can be identified before the site layout and construction schedule are finalised.
