Silent December is a spontaneous portrait story created from one unplanned request. During a practical flash photography session, photographer Marta Parkitna stepped in front of the camera and asked for one photograph. She had not prepared for a portrait session. There was no selected outfit, professional make-up or carefully constructed version of herself. One photograph quietly became a small series. The publication moves between warm colour portraits and black-and-white frames, documenting a woman who did not become someone else for the camera. Nothing was transformed or concealed. The photographs simply made room for her to be seen beyond the difficult period she had recently been carrying.
