This study provides a multidisciplinary assessment of structural pressures shaping the stability of the Russian Federation, integrating historical analysis, geopolitical theory, security studies, and demographic evaluation. Drawing on scholarship concerning imperial legacies, ethnic diversity, hybrid conflict, and state fragility, the article examines how long‑term patterns of expansionism, federal governance, and multiethnic complexity influence contemporary internal dynamics. Particular attention is given to the transformative impact of the war in Ukraine, which has intensified existing political, economic, and military pressures within the Russian Federation.
