This article presents a multidisciplinary assessment of Russian expansionism from the imperial era to the contemporary Russian Federation, tracing the historical conflicts, geopolitical strategies, and demographic factors that have shaped regional security dynamics across Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Through historical analysis and a review of scholarly literature, the study examines Russia’s wars with the Ottoman Empire, its influence in the Balkans and Eastern Europe, and the ideological and geopolitical strategies employed during the Soviet period.
