June 2026 The land That transformed my life Fourteen years ago, I embarked on a journey that profoundly transformed my understanding of development, leadership, and purpose. When I arrived in Vichada, we began building what is now InverBosques. I realised that planting trees was never just about restoring ecosystems. It also meant sowing trust, opportunities, capabilities, and a future in a historically neglected yet immensely valuable region, where we now watch the forests grow, celebrate the return of biodiversity, and stand before a strengthened region. Over the years, and especially in the last decade as general manager of InverBosques, I have had the privilege of seeing how a project that began with an ambitious vision became a solid organisation, capable of developing nature- based solutions with high standards of integrity and, at the same time, generating real opportunities for people and communities.
