Welcome to the eighth edition of Nii magazine,
published by the Kitselas Lands and Resources
Department (KLRD). Nii is a fresh and engaging
way to learn about science and environmental
stewardship in our community. In these pages,

resources, and harvesting, and how they
connect to culture.
In this edition, KLRD celebrates Haliis’maasaw,
the month of the salmon. As part of this year’s
Haliis’maasaw, KLRD is highlighting IR No. 5
