Chapter 44 – On top of Spaghetti The day out to Dudley Zoo with my daughter in September 2006, including a completely spontaneous visit to the new Hindu temple at Tividale in the Black Country had inspired me to design a full-colour magazine called Spaghetti Gazetti, the theme of which was to highlight culture, arts and heritage across the West Midlands region. I also set up an accompanying blog. The first edition of Spaghetti Gazetti was initially in an electronic format using Microsoft Publisher and featured a stark front page celebrating the forthcoming bi-centenary of the abolition of slavery in 1807. My cousin Jayne was working at the Blood Transfusion Service in Edgbaston at this time when she saw the blog and PDF version of the magazine, she commissioned a full page advert in the magazine featuring radio presenter and soul DJ, Trevor Nelson.
