Email: twalmsle@usc.edu Course Description The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the dynamic field of international trade. We will study some of the most influential theoretical models of international trade to investigate why nations trade, what they trade, and who gains (or not) from this trade. We examine the motives for countries to restrict or regulate international trade and study the effects of such policies on economic welfare. We then turn to analyze the reasons for and consequences of the movement of labor and foreign direct investment across national borders.
