G6 STATEMENT ON THE FUTURE OF EUROPEAN RESEARCH AND INNOVATION The G6 of science, comprising six major European research organizations, recognise the need for a strategic reorientation and stronger promotion of European R&I policy to maintain and strengthen Europe's global leadership in cutting-edge research and technological progress. The G6 consider synergies between research and industrial innovation to be absolutely essential, we advocate for a balanced approach that promotes both the scientific fundamentals and their practical application. For research to make a real contribution to industrial competitiveness, we need to invest in a strong and globally competitive European research ecosystem including excellent research at lower Technology Readiness Levels and collaborative efforts across all disciplines.
