COLOMBIA Flash Update No. 2 Update on Earthquake Impacts in 12 Departments of Colombia 10 August 2026 This Flash Update is produced by OCHA Colombia in collaboration with humanitarian partners and based on official reports. Data as of 20:30 local time on 10 August 2026. SITUATION OVERVIEW On the morning of 10 August 2026 at 7:34 am, a 7.4 magnitude earthquakestruck in Colombia with 12 aftershocks greater than 2.0 magnitude, with main epicenter in the municipality of San José del Palmar, Chocó (central and western Colombia). According to updates following the first Flash Update, the most critical impacts have been reported in the departments of Chocó and Valle del Cauca, as well as Risaralda, Caldas, Quindío, Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Huila, Boyacá, Tolima, Cauca and Putumayo, for a total of 12 departments with severe damages reported impacts and affected people, including their capital cities and 335 municipalities.
