Children 5 to 14 years old travel alone on United Airlines, and 15- to 17-year-olds can fly without using the United Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy. However, in this case, parents drop off the minor at the airport. The service is mandatory on domestic and international nonstop flights and costs a fee. Additionally, the policy prohibits unaccompanied minors from connecting flights, codeshare flights, or last flights of the day.
