"MITIGATION OF THE FLOODING PROBLEM GENERATED BY THE OVERFLOWING OF THE CUNDUANA STREAM IN THE CITY OF RIOBAMBA ECUADOR". RIOBAMBA ECUADOR SUMMARY The Cunduana Creek, with its steep slopes and high material dragging, challenges Riobamba with overflows, mainly SCAN AND due to urban expansion. During heavy rains, this situation worsens, turning the creek into a sediment channel that ENTER THE APP: causes flooding and collapses in inhabited areas. To address this challenge, a three-phase approach using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) was implemented. In Phase 1, field information on the affected population was collected using ArcGIS Survey123. Citizen participation drove Phase 2, where a multi-criteria analysis was conducted to identificate the optimal site for a storm trap tank, which would alleviate flooding.
