It is my pleasure to introduce a new version of OCA magazine that focuses not just on one country but one special, and often unknown, region of a country. I must admit that I too have often sped through the Jizzakh region of central eastern Uzbekistan without much thought. It doesn’t contain any of the known tourist or cultural sites that Uzbekistan has to offer and hence it is easy to miss.
