MECHANISM FOR DUAL AXIS TRACKING OF SOLAR PANELS Inventor: Mohannad Bayoumi Date: 07.08.2021 Mohannad.bayoumi@gmail.com Overview Solar energy tracking provides higher energy harvesting potential. Single or dual axis tracking systems are often associated with high technical complexity and rarely feasible for small scale solar energy plants, e.g. in residential buildings. The proposed invention suggests an integration of two four-stage pistons to provide structural support for the solar panel. The shown design takes into consideration the importance of flexibility for the support elements. They should be able to be used on solar modules of common sizes (e.g. 1000 x 1650mm). The fourth stage of the piston is attached to a rotatable ball pod that supports a circular base that is located at the back of the solar panel. This ball enables angular movements in all directions.
