PRESS RELEASE CAILABS LAUNCHES OGSAAS BY CAILABS TO TURN OPTICAL GROUND STATIONS INTO SHARED SERVICE INFRASTRUCTURE • Cailabs is launching Optical Ground Station-as-a-Service, or OGSaaS by Cailabs, to make optical ground communications accessible through a shared service infrastructure. • Satellite operators will be able to use optical communications without building a complete ground network or developing specialist expertise in-house. • Cailabs plans an initial international network of around 15 optical ground stations, including at least four sites in the United States. • The service will combine selected Cailabs and partner-supported stations, while established ground-segment providers will also be able to offer OGSaaS capacity to their customers. • The launch is supported by Cailabs’ selection for investment through EIC STEP Scale Up.
