Reader’s report for “Juste une Ombre” by Karine Giebel This is a complex, multi‐layered thriller that takes the reader on an intense, sometimes shocking, often frightening voyage of one woman’s struggle against one man’s dangerous and inescapable psychosis, delivering various twists and turns along the way so that until the last pages the reader is held captive to suspense. The author plays with us in the time‐honoured style of the whodunit, convincingly dangling suspects before our eyes only to snatch them away at the last minute. At its heart are vivid, strongly portrayed characters who will draw us into their drama. A thoroughly engrossing read, it will be a fast seller. The protagonist is Cloé, a thirtysomething, beautiful and successful advertising executive who seems to have it all: eligible boyfriend, Bertrand, lovely home, money, status.
