Local voters elected a new mayor on Oct. 15, with newcomer In 2018, 829 ballots were cast out of an estimated 2,383 eligible Huck Galbraith beating incumbent Greg McCune by a count of voters, for a voter turnout of 34.8 per cent. 416 votes to 347. Galbraith garnered 53.7 per cent of the vote, compared to McCune’s 44.8 per cent. Galbraith said he is excited and grateful for the opportuni- ty to serve the community in this important capacity. He wants to instil more public faith in city hall and local politics by finding ways to make residents feel part of the process.
