Initially, these troops consisted of five units. Special detachments were formed in order to protect particularly important facilities. They have ensured the security of the Mangistau nuclear complex, the National Bank of Kazakhstan's banknote printing plant in Almaty, and strategic state facilities in Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kurchatov, and Stepnogorsk.
