1. Introduction. The teacher asks students to sit in a circle. She introduces herself by saying “My name is X and I love leaves so much”. Right after this sentence she breathes in while making a slinky rainbow get bigger, and she breathes out as she makes it get smaller again. She passes the slinky rainbow to the student on the right and he/she will do the same (My name is X and I love X so much). This activity focuses on what our students love about Autumn. Depending on their level we can present vocabulary in different ways. We can provide them with specific vocabulary in advance (leaves, sweater, pinecone, squirrel…) or we can reinforce and emphasize the words they choose (see section Resources at the end of this document). 2.
