The article provides extensive information about the geometric patterns that adorn Azerbaijani carpets and their formation. Research shows that simple and simple geometric patterns have evolved over time and become complex patterns. The intricate formation of geometric patterns and compositions in the Middle Ages is due to the transition of architectural patterns to carpet weaving in some sources. During the research, it is found that the geometric patterns of a number of carpets are also widely used in architectural decoration. The use of geometric patterns in the Middle Ages with unprecedented abundance in both architecture and carpet weaving brings them closer together and creates a close connection between them. These cases, as in all carpets, are reflected in the general composition of Karabakh carpets.
