Feature debut, animated short, TV Series and restored classic: Czech moviemaking is putting on a powerful showing at this year’s edition of Berlinale. In the latest issue of CZECH FILM magazine, we don’t focus just on Berlinale’s Official Selection but also on 3 Czech undertakings that have been selected for the Berlinale Co-Production Market, which includes new works from Agnieszka Holland and Olmo Omerzu. We put the spotlight on productions of upcoming Petr Hátle’s Mr. and Mrs. Stodola, about the serial killers among us, and sci-fi Restore Point by Robert Hloz. For our spring edition, we also interviewed set designer Jan Vlasák, who has recently worked with Jan Svěrák, David Ondříček and Václav Marhoul. And we also focus on Czech genre cinema experiencing a steady renaissance.
