In the 2026 summer issue of CZECH FILM magazine, we focus on films screened at the Annecy IAFF – Born in the Jungle, Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe!, Gently, or Please. The newest piece in the ongoing series of articles introducing young filmmakers focuses on animators Kristina Dufková and Filip Pošivač. We take a closer look at three feature projects selected for the Czech Pitch @ Mifa 2026, a new initiative designed to further promote Czech animation internationally. We explore the work of producer Dagmar Sedláčková (MasterFilm), 2026 Czech Producer on the Move. In the second part of a three-part article on film adaptations, we discuss Czech and Czech-led productions drawing on novels, short stories, and children’s literature to explore contemporary experience and new modes of storytelling. In an interview with musician Ondřej Mikula aka Aid Kid, we discuss his work on Caravan and Broken Voices. Lastly, we introduce the production company CLAW films.
