The new 2024–2025 Activity Report of the Kanak Vision of the Ocean project provides a richly illustrated overview of the actions carried out by New Caledonia’s customary authorities to better integrate Kanak knowledge and cultural values into ocean governance and conservation.
Throughout its pages, the publication highlights the project's key achievements: contributing to the 50-year moratorium on deep-sea mining, strengthening the participation of customary authorities in the governance of the Natural Park of the Coral Sea, fostering dialogue between Kanak and scientific knowledge, advancing work on place names and cultural toponymy, promoting the project internationally during the United Nations Ocean Conferenc
