SEAWEED CULTIVATION It became necessary to cultivate with green water (algae) to be able to supply the daphnias in the laboratory. We managed to increase initial cultures by adding water, fertilizer and placing light and an oxygenator. The concentration of nitrite and nitrate, hardness and pH was controlled in all cultures with test strips. Sometimes we exposed the cultures to the sunshine so that they could carry out photosynthesis and accelerate growth, but when temperatures started to rise, we decided to place them under light in the laboratory with a photoperiod of 14:10.
