Atkins Middle School Drastically Improves Student Attendance BRIDGEPORT, MICHIGAN – Martin G. Atkins Middle School is turning student attendance rates around through a new attendance initiative thanks to school staff, Saginaw Intermediate School District, Nexteer Automotive, and other community business partners. Since the initiative launched in the 2017-2018 school year, more students are present on a daily basis and showing up on time. In fact, there has been a 50% reduction in tardy referrals.
