This report offers a clear overview of child protection policies in sport, combining legal analysis, scientific evidence and insights from practice.
- The first volume provides an extensive mapping of international and national legislation and legal frameworks, with a specific focus on Spain, Bulgaria and Italy. It also examines relevant European Union directives, policy references and sectoral guidance issued by sport bodies, child protection organisations and ombudspersons. In addition, this volume reviews scientific evidence related to the different safeguarding dimensions and incorporates an equity lens, including gender, disability, socioeconomic vulnerability and other factors that may increase children’s exposure to violence or barriers to protection. This evidence aims to support the development of an informed and robust 360 Safe Play model.
