Audrey LAFAYE Octobre 2016 Stratégies et principes en traduction technique allemand-français Abstract This research is based on the thesis of Alexander Künzli. It aims to study the strategies and principles used by professional translators and translation students when translating a German technical text into French. Two French professional translators and two French translation students participated in this experiment. The exercise was to orally express their thoughts during the translation process. Strategies were analyzed by comparing the source text with the translated text. While the principles were sought with respect to the reflections made by participants during the translation exercise. The target text produced by the participants was reviewed by 2 translation professionals. The results show that the level of translation experience greatly impacts the translation product.
