News from the communities of the Doon Valley Issue 34 November/December 2023 Celebrating Nature at Hannahston Wood Hannahston Community Woodland hosted an excellent Nature Day event where people came along to have fun and appreciate the beautiful setting - and to plant trees. Some of the activities on the day included face painting, owl handling, pond dipping and seed bombing, and an excellent grand total of 50 aspen trees were planted on the day by visitors Hannahston Community Woodland Nature Day - photo by Coulson & Tennant The Hannahston site is a true success story of nature regeneration, having new wildlife hide with feeding stations, Seasonal changes are vibrant in the once been part of the extensive tirelessly maintained by Friends of woods, with tall lush grass in the mining and industrial landscape of Hannahston Woods.
