Vicki Ix’s Decision a Surprise; Transition to New Priest Could be Long by jane kaufman Citing physical and spiritual exhaustion, the Rev. Vicki Ix announced she is leaving her post as vicar of St. John’s Episcopal Church after nearly seven years. Her last Sunday will be January 5. St. John’s was her first parish. “I love St. John’s — the people, the leadership, the town commu- nity — and I have given my whole heart to your service,” Ix wrote in a December 9 email to the parish. “It has been the joy of my life to be your priest.” Ix, 61, has served St. John’s quarter time while working full time as canon for “I love St. John’s communications at the Episcopal — the people, Diocese of Western Massachusetts.
