The transaction is expected to take place by the end of the year. The land will be transformed into “high-quality wetland and shrubland habitat for species such as bobolinks and other wildlife,” according to a release from the land trust. “Edge Hill already hosts a robust popula- tion of fauna. Turtles lay their eggs in the sandy areas of the golf course during the warmest months of the year and the hatch- lings take their first steps on its verdant grass as summer fades into fall.
