David Jones Reflects on Years in Ashfield by annie cheatham On June 21, the Rev. David Jones, minister at First Congregational Church (UCC) for the last almost seven years, will preach his final sermon at the church. After the service, the congregation will hold a celebration for David and his family, to mark his ministry in Ashfield. All are welcome. On June 28, he and the congregation will participate in a service of “release,” and that will be his last day in Ashfield. In July, Rev. David will assume new duties for the Southern New England Conference of the UCC as an Area Conference Minister, ministering with clergy and church leaders across western Massachusetts and northwestern Con- necticut.
