Running Head: Tiger Woods: A Poorly Handled Affair 1 Tiger Woods has been a newsworthy figure for many years. He is one of the most well known golfers of all time. In late November of 2009 after a car crash, however, he made the front cover of many newspapers and magazines for alleged infidelity. Woods’ scandal was on the front page of The New York Post for 20 consecutive days following the accident (Hatch, 2009). Throughout the months following this scandal, Woods poorly managed the crisis. That affected his relationships with his sponsors and fans. This case was extremely prominent in that it permanently affected the best golfer in the world’s career. Woods hasn’t played the same since. This issue was first evident when The National Enquirer published a story accusing Woods of infidelity on November 25, 2009.
