Intertextual Interpretative Reading in Therapy Nurit Cederboum* This article will introduce a relationship occurring between an interpretative reading, which is based upon the intertextual approach, and the primary thinking processes acting within the framework of creativity mechanism in art, seeking to identify the therapeutic potential lying within this type of interpretative reading. The relationship between the elements characteristic of the primary thinking path and the inventory of words and actions typical of the intertextual interpretative reading was revealed through my doctoral research work, which addressed creation and research processes by means of self-portrait drawing (the action and its outcome). The methodology development process and construction of the analysis instrument, which was designated, among other things, to ‘bring the tale out of the painting’, facilitated discovering the connection and resemblance between what is defined as the creative thinking mechanism,
