Internship Midterm Report For 13 weeks of summer 2016, I am living in Columbus, Texas, and working as a leadership intern at Pine Cove, a Christian summer camp with locations in central and east Texas. There are 10 separate camps under the Pine Cove brand, each serving a specific age group and each with its own theme of available activities. Specifically, my position is called “senior counselor” at Pine Cove Outback. Outback is Australian-themed, and serves kids entering sixth through twelfth grade. As a senior counselor, my broad and ever-changing scope of responsibilities is thoroughly preparing me for a job in Public Relations. My main responsibility is to counsel camp counselors - teaching, encouraging and disciplining them as they engage their campers. There are eight campers and one counselor to a cabin with six cabins to each cluster, and I am responsible for one cluster at a time.
