General Description MODICON® MOMENTUM™ 171CCS78000 M1 PROCESSOR ADAPTER 8000HO04136 10/2004 North Andover, MA USA Data Bulletin A typical system, showing a Momentum Processor Adapter mounted on top of a Momentum I/O Base. A Momentum Option Adapter can be used with the Processor Adapter to extend the system’s I/O capacity.* The Option Adapter also provides a real- time clock and battery backup. MOUNTING: RUN Comm Active The Momentum M1 Processor Adapter stores and executes the application program, controlling the local I/O points of its host I/O Base. The application program for the 171CCS78000 must be written in 984 Ladder Logic using either Concept™ or ProWORX® software. The Momentum Processor Adapters are best utilized in small standalone applications or in applications which call for a distributed control architecture. Using the Modbus Plus™ Option Adapter several Momentum PLCs can be networked together. This allows the user to distribute the application over several smaller pieces.
