The Chrysalis Fall 2025 | Issue 27 A publication of Wings of Hope Dear Friends, Recently, I was asked to present at a hospice conference. The host asked me to start with my ‘why’ – why do I work in hospice care and what was the turning point that put me on this trajectory. Butterflies on the Riverfront I remember that turning point very vividly. In nursing school I disliked every single rotation in the program except one….the hospice rotation. As part of our summer campaign, I remember sitting with a woman who was a patient and talking about our amazing supporters made her life and how she felt about her coming death. The conversation was donations in memory or honor of a so genuine, and she was so authentic. It made me feel alive. The loved one and had their name placed nursing role was about the person, not the body part. I knew I had on a white, silver or gold found my direction. butterfly.
