www.champnews.com BOOTLE 23 March 2016 Care home closure shock Daughter’s skydive in memory of dad MARCH TO SAVE JOBS AT DOOMED TAX OFFICE BATTLE for Bootle campaigners marched through the streets last week in a defiant show of protest against the proposed tax office closures. A group of around 90 people met up at South Park on Wednesday, March 16 before bringing traffic to a stand- still by walking along Stanley Road and stopping at the Triad building. Vehicles were unable to move along the street as the group were then addressed by speakers including MP Peter Dowd, PCS representative Gerry Noble and local business owner Dave Asbridge. Gerry, a Bootle resident as well as a member of the union’s HMRC Group Executive Committee, said: “It was really good to see so many people out and making their voices heard for our campaign. This is just the start. “George Osborne is cutting tax offices but he’s got a fight on his hands – a fight we intend to win!” Those who took part carried flags and
