www.champnews.com SKELMERSDALE 23 March 2016 Fundraising bid to save ‘vital’ lunch services Special event to mark 100 years after Somme battle POLICE APPEAL TO HELP TRACK DOWN BIKE YOBS Police looking for yobs who are riding off-road bikes in an anti-social way POLICE have issued an appeal to the Skelmersdale community to help them find the yobs who are using off-road bikes in an anti- social way and causing a noise nuisance in the town. They have reported an increase in complaints of off-road bikes being ridden in an anti-social way, and there has also been reports of bikes being stolen. Police have said the bikes can be dangerous if they are misused. A Skelmersdale resident contacted The Champion to claim that mopeds are being stolen and then con- verted to off-road bikes. Sergeant Craig Appleton from Lancashire Police said: “The thefts of the bikes and the off-road bikes being used in an anti-social way may be connected, but there are no hard facts to substantiate that. “We need the
