Introduction Nutritional depletion is one of the most common comorbidities in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients. Between 19-70% of COPD patients are classified as malnourished. Weight loss, low body mass index (BMI) and/or fat-free mass index (FFMI) are associated with a worse prognosis and increased mortality risk, regardless of the severity of the impairment of lung function. 1- Hsieh MJ, Yang TM, Tsai YH.
